Description

This is the most versatile and comfortable ski I've owned (and I've owned over a dozen). It is an excellent downwind and general rough water ski. It is very predictable and confidence inspiring in confused, choppy conditions and does not get blown off course by cross winds like most other skis which is really helpful for light to medium weight paddlers. I really like this ski but... I have too many skis. I have a faster (more tippy) ski, I also have a more stable (slower) ski, I've got a plastic ski I can use in shallow rocky water. I have two sea kayaks too for when I want to carry gear. If I could only have one ski; this would be the one. However, on any given day I usually use a different ski (or kayak) for the conditions on that day so as good as the Boost X LV is; it doesn't get used as much as it should. This ski is in good condition although it has a repair to the right gunwale that was completed before I bought the ski. That repair looks and feels solid and has not shown any weakness. I am completely confident in the integrity of the ski so I've been miles offshore in some pretty awesome downwind conditions with no problems. It has a nice grip pad on the footplate and it's been gunwale taped.
